Tom Brady has just authorized the NFLPA to appeal his case in federal court.

Oh snap.

I would be shocked if that argument held up in court. They were able to talk to the other parties and obtain the text messages they were interested in seeing.

There's an auditing term called completeness. Just because you have some liabilities on your balance sheet doesn't mean they are all there. Who's to say that there weren't any text messages between Brady and someone else? Brady may have been protecting other players or coaches, or even the owner.

The same grounds all the other ones have been granted? It's not a real reach... hell he has the same lawyer.

Too lazy to read thread -- how many posts do we have from jcorye and wildtigercat?

My experience is it still can take a frickton of time to set aside or enforce an arbitration ruling, but I haven't tried the injuctive route.

It's completely that Goodell was the arbitrator.

One of the hardest things to prove or disprove though :(

According to Brady he destroys his phones all the time, as do a lot of celebrities when they get new ones. And since he wasn't planning on giving his phone to Wells anyway, and since the NFL can't get it through a warrant, I don't see how it is relevant.

Because juries are comprised of people. I think the average person thinks that excuse he gave is malarkey.

Once a person proves himself to be a liar it's tough to determine what he's lying about and what he's not.

Poor Roger... I feel bad for this loser. He's going to be once again embarrassed by the NFLPA and its lawyers

Brady is playing Week 1

I'd guess around 20 from me and 8 from Wildtigercat.

I'm pretty sure they don't use juries in these kind of issues, which is why the NFL had such issues with Doty.

it's not a reach but it's still no guarantee. it's up to the discretion of a judge too. and the standard for having an injunction granted is very high

an injunction is granted by a judge, not a jury

Especially since he already knew they wanted the phone.

He's not Rain Man...he doesn't have to switch phones religiously every 90 days or whatever.

Ok, judge, arbitrator, whoever will be hearing his case. It's a really bad look to any reasonable person.

Assuming they can subpoena the records, I doubt they'll care. If you want something that will cause credibility to be shaken, you only need to take one look at the Wells report, and Rodger doubled down and said he backs it 100 percent.

doesn't this fall under the category of just fishing? by this logic you could claim a lack of completeness unless you were privy to every private conversation he recently had with another employee of the NFL.

that's not a reasonable argument IMO
