Does the player who waits for the buzzer to sound before heaving the ball to the hoop a tPOS? It only hurts them if they do it(FG%) and can only help the team if they do it

I think Favre or somebody else pretty bigtime didn't like hail marys because it hurt his QB rating.

Huh?
Are you talking about heaving it across court BEFORE the buzzer sounds?

If they wait for the buzzer to sound then it has no effect on anything

I'm talking about, at the end of the quarter. Players dribbling with like a second or so that's about 3/4 of the court intentionally waits to hear the BUZZER, then tosses it so it doesn't count as a FGA

the ole "im not fricking up my fg% but i'll pretend like im not thinking about it by shooting a split second after the buzzer"?

Well it's not a shot. The point he's making is it is selfish NOT to shoot it.

Then why is it a selfish shot?

Because he didn't take it before the buzzer therefore it didn't hurt his stats.

Because there's always a chance it could go in to help the team.

Shane battier said in some article I read a whole ago that this is the only selfish thing he does while playing

The only time I've ever seen a player do this is at the end of the game when it doesn't effect anything. Never seen a player do it at the end of a quarter/half

Happens quite a bit. Most times they don't even attempt.
