This is big: The #Raiders are benching Derek Carr and will start Jarrett Stidham vs. the #49ers.

Carr has $40.4M that becomes guaranteed if he can't pass a physical. Vegas could get out of his contract this offseason — and this seems to be a step towards that happening.
Hope Stiddy plays well.

Hard first opponent for him, though.

If you saw that Josh Jacobs interview from a few days ago, you know that the problem isn’t Carr.

tweet formats weird when pasting, but essentially he's literally never had an at least above average defense as a quarterback

You guys need to watch some games instead of relying on stats and box scores.

Carr has been absolutely awful this season.

I guess, but he does lead the NFL in INTs.

This is all about getting out of his contract. 40 million is a lot of cap to send to one player in general. I’m sure they could trade him and they aren’t exactly one player away from competing

hes had some bad defenses, but his offenses have been just as bad for the most part. Maybe a year or two in there where they were a top 1/3 team in the league, but hes never been good.

He has josh jacobs and davante adams and the only 2 starting QBs i can see with a lower completion percentage than him are Russel Wilson and Zach Wilson. And he leads the league in interceptions. Hard to blame all that on defenses and coaching. Although, mcdaniels is booty too

He should just be a backup somewhere

Carr can put a contender over the top like Stafford did.

McDaniels needed a fall guy for all the games he and his DC blew, setting an NFL record.

There is no need to get out of his deal financially. They’re loaded with offensive talent and have coached themselves into 6-7 losses. This might be the worst staff in the NFL.
