Ahh I read the first part you quoted me in when talking about his 2014-2015 season. My apologies.

quote:

i could have just quoted all of the stats but i thought what i did quote kind of summed it all up. and that not opinion. what i quoted was fact. do you know what opinion is? opinion was when i said if he gives us a five more seasons like this and the warriors go on a long title run, hed be in the conversation for GOAT. stating that he is either better than or similar to every single career best stat for the other players isnt opinion because its just statistical fact

No. It's not.

His stats have gone down since then.

Curry had less pts then all of them besides Magic and Larry. Had less rebounds then all of them. Had less assists than all of them besides Kareem. Had a higher PER than all of them EXCEPT Lebron and MJ.

Was a worse (not that he is a bad defender) then all of them besides maybe Larry and Magic.

He shot more 3's then all of them though. Awesome. He had a higher "effective" and "true" FG%. No doubt he could possibly go down as the best shooter of all time. But that's basically the only thing he is better than those guys at. Shooting. And "handles" as well I'm sure. But that's not really a statistic we can measure.

He's got some incredible defenders on his team with him. That doesn't make him a bad defender. His first assignment coming off a knee injury was chasing CJ through all sorts of screens last night and he was excellent at it.

For example, I think Mike Conley is the 2nd best defensive PG in the league, but if I am deciding who I want to guard someone like Steph I'm throwing Tony Allen on him.

Draymond, Klay, and Iggy are at the upper echelon in terms of defenders.

You're own statement shows why Curry is not elite. Draymond and Klay and maybe Iggy are "upper echelon" defenders. They are ELITE. Steph Curry is not upper echelon and therefore he is not elite.

i want to stress that these are one seasons stats compared to a combination of THE CAREER BESTS for everyone else. and yes, he is no longer leading the majority of them all, he is just similar to them all now

Curry had less pts then all of them besides Magic and Larry. Had less rebounds then all of them
which is fine, but since they are such different players, i dont really consider those nor did i really in my thread. i just put them there because everyone does
quote:

ad less assists than all of them besides Kareem
quote:

Had less assists than all of them besides Kareem
only magic and lebron had higher ast% numbers. and what he had this year pretty much falls in line with lebrons career average
quote:

Had less rebounds then all of them.
i have a hard time holding a guard at fault for this, even if stephs numbers are pretty low
quote:

Was a worse (not that he is a bad defender) then all of them besides maybe Larry and Magic.
when compared to the career bests of the rest, this is true
quote:

He shot more 3's then all of them though. Awesome. He had a higher "effective" and "true" FG%. No doubt he could possibly go down as the best shooter of all time. But that's basically the only thing he is better than those guys at
and yet, when this season is compared to the CAREER BESTS of everyone else, not just their best season but every single stats career best, outside of defense which i will concede he isnt really in the discussion, he comes out rather similar and was doing better for the majority of the season

so yea, this year was at least a top 10 season of all time

I'm cool with that. Just don't think it's top 5 and I definitely don't think his season last year was anywhere near the top 10.
