The Giants haven't been unlucky?

They've had multiple injuries and atrocious relief pitching and still have the best record in baseball.

They're currently on a tear with, what - three starting position players and a starting pitcher out.

What exactly is your metric for the best team?

I'm not talking about injury luck, although the Cubs have had those too- Schwarber, Soler, Fowler, etc

I'm talking about run distribution. A team's current record isn't the best way to predict a team's future record. In general, teams play to their run differential. I expect that to be the case with the Giants and the Cubs in the 2nd half.
