Yea, the Cubs are still the best team in baseball. Even after their recent funk, they're only a couple games back of the best record in the league, and they've actually been unlucky this year.
They've had multiple injuries and atrocious relief pitching and still have the best record in baseball.
They're currently on a tear with, what - three starting position players and a starting pitcher out.
What exactly is your metric for the best team?

I'm not talking about injury luck, although the Cubs have had those too- Schwarber, Soler, Fowler, etc
I'm talking about run distribution. A team's current record isn't the best way to predict a team's future record. In general, teams play to their run differential. I expect that to be the case with the Giants and the Cubs in the 2nd half.
