Mostly pretty dumb, but the flames on the helmet for players who are on fire is awesome. I doubt the HUD stuff will ever be allowed, looks like Madden shite

Seems like the HUD would be highly impractical, considering the quickness of most plays.

Could possibly show the QB something like "with this personnel unit, they usually play cover 2" or something like that. Also showing the weakness of the guy lined up right across from you

Great, more ways to get rid of defense. Why don't they just get rid of the helmets and pads and let them play 7 on 7 already?

The future for CB's looks great as they can just read the WR's routes right off the opponents helmets now

I think you'll see Go Pros attached to helmets at some point.

The NFL won't exist long enough for this Phil of the future crap to make it into the game.

I would allow the HUD for training purposes only.

Game day? Hell no!

The Swiss hockey league actually does this.

Concept of retractable face masks is interesting but the design they showcase looks like it could pop open too easily...

Regarding displays that could include marketing:

HUD is just stupid for so many reasons, beginning with the likelihood of taking some/most/if not all impulse and improvisation out of the game...

I hate all of it, honestly.

I watch football because I love my team and want to see us beat other teams. I don't want to see someone's helmet light up like I'm watching a damn vidya game.

I do at least like the idea of having the down, distance, and clock on the HUD.

The second part doesn't impact the first part.

Those helmets still won't stop the brain from impacting the skull, you know, the thing that actually causes concussions. If the league really wants to limit concussions, it will go to the head padding used by flag football teams. Guys have to change the way they play.

Maybe not directly but if this comes to fruition (which I doubt) it will start moving away from the first part.

This is just another way to "enhance" the game and draw in younger viewers, but the game doesn't need enhancing. There's simply no need to have a dude's helmet light on fire when he scores a touchdown, none whatsoever.
