I honestly thought he was gonna retire, he's already walking like Charles Barkley.

The Spurs roster should look very similar for next season if Duncan is taking a cut.

I would have been happy for him either way. For me, watching the Spurs in the playoffs gives me joy unmatched by any other team. I'm thankful I get at least one more time around with Duncan.

and he'll still put up at least 13/8 and be the defensive anchor of the team.

Spurs were loaded this year and even with a slight dropoff next year are still well ahead of the pack atm.

Yessir.

Well, we're well ahead of most teams. OKC is still scary as hell, and of course the Mavs were the last team to take us to 7 ( ).

Memphis is never a joke.

PHX is coming on FAST (I honestly didn't want to play them in the first round).

Gonna be interesting in the West fo sho.

Yup. Gotta make sure to resign Diaw & Mills and maybe make a splash in free agency (replacement for Bonner?) and we'll be ready to roll again.

Mavs would have to make dramatic improvements defensively. Going to 7 with the champs is not really a moral victory or something to build on... as they weren't even competitive in game 7 and it by no means means you're close to a title (Houston 2009, Atlanta 2008)

OKC needs to abandon its isolation style of basketball on the offensive end... but yes, they have youth and star power on their sides.

Houston could benefit from an acquisition like Love or Melo.. for sure.

Clippers are really good, but I feel like they're missing a piece... it's felt like that the last 3 years quite frankly.

Where Love goes will have an impact.

The West is really loaded, but it was loaded the last 2 years too the Spurs made the Finals.

This is imperative.

LandWalrus I think will stay. He's made his money, loves playing with Parker, and is in the one system in the league that maximizes his preferred style of play.

The Baker's Man worries me. I think he loves the environment and culture of the Spurs/South Texas as well, but he's probably worth more than we're going to be able to give him. And I wouldn't be opposed to him getting paid--he's more than earned it. Just sucks for us because he's the first legit backup threat behind Parker that we've ever had.

Perhaps his shoulder injury will drive down his market value somewhat, though. We can only hope.

Yeah, sucks for him; but it's probably good for us.

Also, I hope we extend Kawhi's contract this offseason so we don't have to sweat it out a year from now. As of now, Duncan, Manu, Tony, & Kawhi all expire next season.

As long as Rick Carlisle is at the helm, they've got a fighting chance, IMO. He gets more out of them than just about any other coach in the league could at this point.

If OKC were coached more intelligently, they'd be a virtual lock for the Finals every year. The way Scott Brooks coached that team this postseason was criminal. That squad wins in spite of him, IMO.

I agree--both HOU and LAC seem like they're one piece away. But for some reason the Rockets scare me more if they sign a good FA.

Will never happen, but would die to have him in SA.

We were very fotunate to go two years in a row. Not even our best stretch of teams (03 to 08ish) won the West in consecutive years.

Precisely why I'm not assuming we'll win it again in '15 even if we do bring everyone back. Just ludicrous how deep the West is.

If he comes back next year, I'm breathing much easier.

Likewise.

We'll bend over backwards to keep Sugar K on board, of course.

Whether Duncan or Manu stay likely depends on how deep the Spurs advance next season. If they make the Finals again, I could see Timmy and Ginobili finally calling it quits afterwards.

Tony's younger than the other two, of course, but his game is only going to decline from here as he ages I think. He'll still have the floater, of course, but the explosion has already started to desert him for stretches, not to mention he's getting nicked up more and more due to his style of play. Was bound to happen at some point.

I hate to say it, but I could see us testing the trade waters with TP after next year. My gut says he probably stays and plays for less and tries to finish out as a Spur.

Didn't want y'all in '11.

Was happy to avoid y'all in '12.

Didn't want y'all in '13 (most difficult sweep I've ever witnessed).

Didn't want y'all in '14 (even though DAL made me regret that )

Kid is gonna be a superstar. We need to pay him and lock him up.

I believe Tim & Manu are both probably gone after next season no matter what. It would be cool if they retire together (after repeating? ). It'll be interesting to see what happens with Tony, hard to know what will happen. I do know he has a giant house in SA that he custom built and he moved his whole family to San Antonio - I don't think he has any interest playing elsewhere if he can avoid it.

We just gotta stay healthy this year, so I don't have to spend every damn night staring at the standings

Yeah, but so far it is pretty much a given that it is going to happen.

Mike Miller is more of an uncertainty and I would love to have him back.

I'm really hoping someone like Rodney Hood, James Young, PJ Hairston, or TJ Warren falls to us in the draft. They would all be perfect fits to replace Tayshaun.

I'm leaning towards that as well. Would be awesome if they repeated. Really wish Manu wasn't playing internationally this offseason, though

8 or so years ago, I could easily see him moving somewhere else. But now? It'd be very difficult for him to go anywhere and have the same success, not to mention he has a limited time left near the top of his game. I don't think he wants to go somewhere and be option 1a or even a backup when the starting job is his in SA for as long as he wants it, even for less money.

Gotcha. I like watching Memphis play, they are fun to watch grind down teams in the playoffs (when it's not the Spurs).

It really sucks how it ended. If we didn't blow Game 4, we likely are playing y'all in the WCF's.
