Maybin is one of my favorite players but with his past history of injuries and inconsistencies I would not take my chances with regression. Go ahead and sell high and collect your assets.

He has played a pretty poor CF this year but other than that he has been pretty damn impressive. I don't think you could have ever dreamed when you took him on that you would be able to possibly get a valuable long term piece or two for him.

Yea, I've really enjoyed watching him play. Always has a smile on his face and seems to genuinely want to be in Atlanta.

I just want a premium for him. Whether that be an everyday 3B, LF or catcher. If we sell him, it just needs to be for that kind of piece to me.

Edit:
What are y'alls thoughts on Aaron Judge? Do you think it's worth going to the Yankees with Peraza and a pitching prospect to see if we can get him?

Judge is the type of controllable bat we need to get for LF, but I just don't trust his ability to stick in the OF at 6'7 and 275 pounds. His size just screams 1B/DH to me. I like his bat though. Judge combined with an aging Markakis would give us very little defensive range in LF and RF.

McCann has pulled the ball at a 45% clip in his career (which is pretty high).

2007 was the only season he has been under 40% and that was the second worst year of his career.

I don't disagree. We just match up well with the Yankees.

If nothing else we could do kind of like what we did with Gattis. Play him in left until we feel like it isn't working anymore, then trade him to an AL team.

Can we see his percents per year for his career?

Here's a link Crim, scroll down to batted ball. Pull % and opposite field % are on the right side for each year of his career.

Yes. Stats show he is not. Pendleton said he is pull happy the last three years and he used to spray it all over the field when he came up. Do the stats count the at bats he tries to pull but strikes out?

I think the only discussion of this game was about a hit fan.

Nah, those % would just be where he makes contact and puts it in play.

When talking spray charts, only balls put in play count.

Right. Have his strike outs gone up per game played over the years?

If he truly was better when he was hitting the ball all over the field the wRC+ should go down as the pull% goes up. As it is, I see zero correlation.

I checked. His strike out per plate appearance was great at the beginning of his career. Not near as good middle and end of career.

But to break it down really Crim, being a dead pull hitter is not a really big issue. Many of the best hitters in baseball history were pull hitters. Ted Williams and Barry Bonds being two big examples.

Bonds hit it out to all fields. That was one of the things amazing about him.

And you guys always go to the elite hitters for reference. They are rare.
