I will say, and this shouldn't be considered a defense for the many, many idiotic things Fredi does, but Jim Leyland has started every player on his bench but one thus far.
I think Leyland is a good manager.
Now, if Fredi only had a modicum of Leyland's motivational and management skils.

He looked pretty good last year.
I just hope he can at least make it 6 innings. The bullpen is going to die if the starters keep struggling to get through 5.

No big deal. Other than that one mistake, his two-seamer had great movement and that slider was sharp. Got to get the bats going.

Delgado gave in to the ump there. The ump didn't give him two really good pitches, and not wanting to walk the guy he grooved one right down the middle. Time to get it back.
