I'd almost sacrifice some HRs if one of the Uptons can hit 300

Naw.

HRs > Avg. Especially from those two, who are middle of the bat guys.

For this to be a really great lineup, we need Simmons to keep hitting like he was last year and be a capable lead off guy.

We need Uggla to not be a hole in the ground.

We need Francisco and Johnson to not but auto-out two before the pitcher is due up every inning.

All that being said, the lineup is still pretty salty even with those weaknesses.

If the pitching holds up, this is a damn good team.

LINK

I have watched about 50 clips of J-Up tonight.

Eric Byrnes called it the prettiest right handed swing in the game.

He really does have a pretty swing, my friend said tonight JUP has Curtis Granderson type HR production. He's a Detroit Tiger fan too. He was sick they didn't get BJ

I think Simmons will be alright. He's probably never going to be Jeter, but he knows what he is doing at the plate. Only 21 Ks in 188 PAs as a rookie is pretty impressive. He needs to draw a few more walks and get on base more to be an effective leadoff guy since he isn't much of a base stealer though. The big worry for me is he has shown an ability to fall deep into a slump, and there is enough tape on him now that the league will be able to make adjustments.

All I ask of Uggla is .240/.320/.450 and ~20 HRs.

Uggla should hit .250 with 25 to 30 bombs

I dont know what his deal is, he just needs to try to make hard contact, not come out of his shoes on every single swing

Hard not to be happy when you turn what we just did into a superstar.

This is like the Michael Bourn trade on HGH.

Hubs: When you done?

Dan: the fact that he was able to navigate this without giving up a single top prospect and saving 9+ mil in the bank is just mind boggling.

If we got Headley, if we didn't at least win 2 World Series it would be a travesty

You think Wren is paying for Towers' trip to Africa to shoot some big game and become gritty like his manager?
