That's Sale's salary for the next three years. Its pennies for one of the three or four best pitchers in baseball. Its going to take a huge haul to get him.

With no Dansby, its going to take Albies, Anderson/Allard/Soroka, and Acuna for them to not hang up the phone, and that will probably just be the base of the package.

It depends on how bad they want to give up Sale. It sounds like they are gonna rebuild this offseason and we have to offer the deal they like more than any other team. I would guess it would it take Ozzie, Newcomb, and a couple of B prospects to get in the running for Sale.

It's safe to say you overvalue your prospects. Would take a hell of a lot more than that.

When your centerpiece prospect (Swanson) has some warts, its hard to come up with a deal for Sale, esp one that doesnt involve him

They probably want too much for Sale or they would have had someone get him on the trade deadline this year. It is hard to determine the value of a guy with several contract years left, and even if you do its even harder to get what you should for him if he's the caliber of Sale. I don't think the Braves want to throw all the valuable cards they've been stockpiling on the table for a player who starts once every 5 days.

And we are giving up the entire farm for what 2 years to be competitive? Sale isn't gonna make us a contender for next year.

Every prospect in baseball has some warts. Some scouts wonderd if Kris Bryant was gonna make enough contact against MLB pitchers. Some scouts didn't think Seager could play shortstop in the MLB. We don't have a once in a generation talent in our system but I think we have the deepest farm system in baseball.

This is my thought process. There's no way we resign him anyway after his contract is up in 2019.

It would be nice, but we don't have to have one. Harper and Trout haven't won either of their teams a world series, and neither has Clayton Kershaw.

Kris Bryant

Not sure hes a generational talent, but hes close if he isn't.

I wouldn't agree with that at all. Plus it lacks star power

And Swanson isn't the prospect Bryant or Seager were. I'm not saying he is bad but he doesn't project to be a star

That's certainly something a team with no superstar at the major or minor league level would say

I just don't see it man. The young pitchers brought up last year all failed.

Many of the hitters people are touting were just ok in the minors.

The MLB team is so bad it's hard to start trading pieces. But you also need these pieces to start playing better not just for potential trades but because these are the guy the braves will have to count on other wise

I don't think our MLB team is as bad as you think. We played relatively well down the stretch once we added Kemp and Swanson. We aren't competing for a World Series appearance next year obviously, but we will be improved and headed in the right direction. Our best arms are our youngest arms which is why we brought in the old dudes to help bridge the gap.
