1. JR Graham (RHP, 23 years old, AA) - 4.04 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, 7.1 K/9, 2.5 BB/9, 9.8 H/9 [8 starts, 35.2 IP]

Graham hasn't gotten off to the best start this year, but the hard thrower has kept his walks down and will only get stronger throughout the season.

2. Lucas Sims (RHP, 19 years old, A) - 3.72 ERA, 1.14 WHIP, 8.4 K/9, 5.6 BB/9, 4.7 H/9 [9 games, 19.1 IP]

After starting the year off in a relief role, the 1st round pick from last year has shown flashes of brilliance only allowing 4.7 H/9, but will have to gain control on the mound. Will be nasty in the back of the Braves bullpen in the future, and still has that potential to transition into a starter.

3. Sean Gilmartin (LHP, 23 years old, AAA) - 2.70 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 4.9 K/9, 3.7 BB/9, 8.3 H/9 [6 starts, 36.2 IP]

Not much about Gilmartin stands out, but he has been decently solid. You would prefer to see those strikeouts increase, but not sure they ever will. He'll see some time in Atlanta in the years to come, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot of positive results.

4. Alex Wood {LHP, 22 years old, AA) - 0.47 ERA, 0.90 WHIP, 10.2 K/9, 2.1 BB/9, 5.9 H/9 [7 starts, 38 IP]

These are video game numbers. It'll be interesting to see how the lefty progresses.

5. Mauricio Cabrera {RHP, 19 years old, A) - 3.19 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 5.2 K/9, 6.6 BB/9, 5.6 H/9 [7 starts, 36.2 IP]

The walks need to decrease, but this youngster still has potential to become the head of the Braves farm system in the next year or two. Could end up being a very solid #2 or #3 guy in the bigs.

6. Jose Peraza (SS, 19 years old, A) - .243 AVG, .292 OBP, .580 OPS, 5 2B, 0 HR, 9 SB(3 CS), 6 BB, 20 K [122 PA]

The crafty SS is the first position player on here, but as per usual from Braves offensive minor league products, his numbers have not impressed. But he's still young and facing some tougher competition for the first time.

7. Christian Bethancourt (C, 21 years old, AA) - .313 AVG, .318 OBP, .771 OPS, 6 2B, 1 HR, 3 SB(2 CS), 1 BB, 13 K [67 PA]

The numbers are improving in his 2nd year in AA, but he still has not shown the ability to take a walk.

8. Cody Martin (RHP, 23 years old, AA) - 3.31 ERA, 1.41 WHIP, 9.1 K/9, 4.1 BB/9, 8.5 H/9 [10 games, 5 starts, 32.2 IP]

If nothing else, I think this guy ends up being a very good 7th or 8th inning reliever.

9. Edward Salcedo (3B, 21 years old, AA) - .268 AVG, .341 OBP, .723 OPS, 8 2B, 2 HR, 7 SB(4 CS), 13 BB, 33 K [138]

We keep waiting for that breakout year for Salcedo who was thought to be the next great position player for the Braves, but we haven't received it. The numbers this year in his first year of AA ball have been improved, but he is going to have to show consistency as we move on into the summer months.

10. Joey Terdoslavich (RF, 24 years old, AAA) - .327 AVG, .340 OBP, .908 OPS, 14 2B, 7 HR, 2 SB(2 CS), 3 BB, 27 K [159 PA]

Huge bounce back after being horrid in AAA last year. While it doesn't mean much for a future in Atlanta, if he continues these numbers he could be a nice trade chip once the deadline comes around.

11. Tommy La Stella (2B, 24 years old, AA) - .451 AVG, .548 OBP, 1.235 OPS, 4 2B, 2 HR, 2 SB, 10 BB, 3 K [62 PA]

Has been a personal favorite of mine for years now. Dude might be getting up there in age and might not play the best defense, but man he hits. Was out for all of April from a leg injury but that didn't slow him down when he got back. In 708 career minor league PA, La Stella has more walks than strikeouts. Not seen often in this day and age. I wouldn't count out this guy in a Major League uniform in the next couple of years, especially with who is in front of him.

12. William Beckwith (1B, 22 years old, A+) - .262 AVG, .375 OBP, .851 OPS, 6 2B, 7 HR, 6 SB(2 CS), 20 BB, 34 K [152 PA]

This guys knows how to take a walk, and has some power to go along with it. Could definitely see time in a major league uniform, but probably for another team.

12. Todd Cunningham (OF, 24 years old, AAA) - .224 AVG, .302 OBP, .578 OPS, 4 2B, 1 HR, 8 SB(2 CS), 12 BB, 24 K [150 PA]

Meh. Never been a favorite of mine.

13. Matt Lipka (OF, 21 years old, A+) - .246 AVG, .320 OBP, .753 OPS, 10 2B, 3 HR, 9 SB(3 CS), 13 BB, 28 K [152 PA]

While the numbers aren't all there, Lipka is at least showing flashes of the reason he was drafted so highly.

14. Luis Merejo (LHP, 18 years old, ...) - no stats accumulated

Will start the season out in Danville, but this kid could be the next great Braves pitcher. All the tools are there, just extremely raw.

15. Josh Elander (OF, 22 yeras old, A) - .303 AVG, .367 OBP, .898 OPS, 11 2B, 5 HR, 3 SB, 14 BB, 33 K [147]

Was drafted in the 6th round this past year as a catcher out of TCU but has made the transition to the OF. The bat should stay, and if his fielding can get up to par, we could have a major league starter here in Elander.

How are they playing?

I have Lil' Cobb a wood bat yesterday and be dropped it on my foot. Maybe <4 months is too young to hold a bat?

Had our first game yesterday. Won 8-4. Throwing strikes is key.
We have practice today to go over the basics. Our catcher fell for the first and third twice after we told him not to throw

Fun age to play too. I played with some studs back in the day in Shreveport's Little League at that age.

1998 was the last year I was down there before I moved. Was on the LL All-Star team last 3 years I was there. Lot of fun. Even though it took up half the summer.
