I would hope so. That would mean we would get rid of Johnson for next year and have Uribe expiring this year. Win / Win.

Peraza is probably going to be a good player, but until we see him in the MLB, I just hate really banking on prospects, unless they are the can't miss guys.
I think he got a B? grade? He could be unbelievable or could turn into an average player, who knows.
I know we need at least one, maybe two, power bats, that's for sure.

Peraza at 2B and Jace at 3B would be great. Hopefully we could move both CJ and Uribe and make it happen sooner than later.

My point is sometimes prospects pan out. Sometimes they don't. Jose has more value mostly due to the unknown.

Both were top 50 prospects. Ranked around the same as Peraza is right now.
Freeman 2010 scouting report:
Scouting report: Has an advanced idea of what to do at the plate, especially considering his age. Good pitch recognition leads to an ability to drive the ball, and he seems to be even better with runners on base. Should hit for average and more power in the future. Good defensive first baseman with an above-average arm (he was a pitcher in high school).
Upside potential: Outstanding defensive first baseman who will hit for average and power while driving in plenty of runs in the middle of a big-league lineup.
McCann 2005:
McCann hit .278/.337/.494 with 16 homers in 2004 for Myrtle Beach in the Carolina League. His defense continued to improve, and given the difficult hitting nature of his home park, his numbers were very strong. I like him a lot and he will be very, very good if he avoids injury and the offensive stagnation that often plagues young catchers.

Frenchy was ranked around the same spot as McCann (some ranked him higher some lower).

He missed several weeks in 2004 after getting hit in the face with a pitch, but he came back sooner than expected and drew praise for his work ethic and fortitude in overcoming the injury. He continued to thrive against High-A pitching, hitting .293/.346/.506 with 15 homers, 22 walks, and 70 strikeouts in 334 at-bats in High-A. However, he had problems after moving up to Double-A, hitting just .197/.197/.342 with zero walks and 14 strikeouts in 76 at-bats. He earns a B+ grade, but he must learn the strike zone and gain a better understanding or he could struggle, especially if rushed.
Obviously Heyward was the #1 prospect in the game and seen as a true 5-tool guy. He's been a very productive player but obviously the issue with the swing has kept him from being a top player in the game. Will likely still have a very solid 15-year+ career.

What point are you trying to make here?
Obviously scouts miss some times just like there are misses in recruiting but I think if you asked all 30 teams who they'd rather have everybody would take Peraza.

Point is don't always go by projections. I would go with both Jace and Peraza.
