Inciarte CF
Beckham SS
Freeman 1B
Flowers C
Markakis RF
Johnson 2B
Garcia 3B
Wisler P
Smith LF
Wisler vs. some frick
Braves news:
On Sunday, Julio Teheran was dealing with a blister on his right foot:
Minors news:
Yesterday, Rio Ruiz hit his first homer since April 22 to win the game for the G-Braves. He's slashing .255/.349/.370. Ozzie Albies went 2/5 with a double and is slashing .237/.269/.368. It would be nice to see him heat up and then bring up him and/or Albies sometime relatively soon whenever the Super Two deadline has passed. I think we can assume that the Braves won't be able to get anything of value for Erick Aybar at this point so I imagine he will be DFA'd once the Super Two cutoff has passed and the Braves decide Albies/Swanson are ready.

On Sunday, Julio Teheran was dealing with a blister on his right foot:
quote:
“I was trying to protect my feet because whenever it was dragging, I was feeling it,” Teheran said. “I was trying to find a way to pitch and not hurt my blister. Sometimes when you get into stuff like that you start to mechanically get a little shaken and that was what I was feeling.”

I honestly am not expecting Rio to be anything at this point.

All my faith is in Austin Riley at this point. Granted that's several years away but it makes me uncomfortable how many eggs I have in his basket.

Agreed.
I would like to see Dansby at AAA soon and then let Ozzie/Dansby play together there until we gain another year of service time with both mid-April next year.

He has been horrendous this year at Rome.

Riley has no bat speed.

Yeah, it's Bill Shanks, but

@BillShanks Jason Grilli has evidently been traded to Toronto.

I would probably find a new basket if I were you. He was great last year, but we are seeing now in Rome that he has plenty to work on, before he is even close to being a major league player, namely his slow bat speed.
I dont expect much from Ruiz either. He's been bad since the first couple of weeks of the season, and he has never shown power or consistency while in the minors.
I honestly think that we are going to have to sign or trade for a 3rd baseman in the next couple of years.

Why on earth would you want Hansen? He's been terrible (and has never had a good season in college, where he should be dominating). If we go pitcher with 2 out of our top 3 picks I'm going to be pretty pissed.
I'd rather have Groome than Pint, but I'm fine with either at #1 as long as we get some bats at 40 and 44. I'm hoping for Kieboom with one of our picks at 40 or 44. I like the idea of Banks with the pick we traded for, nice buy low option.
Not sure how you figure we are saving money with Lewis though, he's a junior and has plenty of leverage, not to mention we'd be lucky if he even gets to us at 3.

It's really nice to see his improvement this year. This is some Maddux-like work tonight, 7 IP and 68 pitches.

Hopefully nothing serious for Gordon
