if you have an issue with kris bryant's hype, you should send baseball america, mlb.com, baseball prospectus etc an angry email outlining your frustration
Springer is 25 years old and already has 20 MLB HRs. Im not even sure why you want to compare him to a 23 yr old without an MLB plate appearance

I'm talking about the hype. I understand you guys don't know how to act because this is the first time in a while you've had these type prospects, but we were just having this discussion last year.
My point is the hype is overkill. We saw the same type player last year in Springer. But Cubs fans are ready to pounce on that because we all know thay Bryant is obviously the 2nd coming of Mantle. In reality, no, he's not.

I am a lifelong Cubs fan and I think the talking heads are insane. I think they will be greatly improved and have a shot at a decent record. I don't predict the playoffs this year though. 1 year away in my opinion.

I agree with what you are saying. Since it is the Cubs led by Theo Epstein, Bryant is this can't miss prospect when in fact he is no better than Springer. As I stated earlier prospects are just that until proven otherwise.As a longtime Reds fan I've heard about the second coming many times, from Paul Householder to Austin Keatns to Homer Bailey and now Billy Hamilton and many in between. It gives you hope I guess.

This is a stupid argument by prime, people were blowing their load over springer too, it's just died down because he didn't have a trout like season. This happens with all prospects who don't blow up their first season, but to say springer didn't get any hype is crazy.

I can agree with that, but a Cub, Dodger, Yankee, Met, prospect will get more hype than an Astro, Mariner, Royal, Blue Jay prospect might.
