did you even know AS's name before this thread? You don't know a single thing about this kid

I know he decommitted from a school because he got his feelings hurt, like a little bitch.

Saban will find room for him on a team who can win a NC.

He has to spend 3 or 4 years there. Attention to detail is everything in life. For an 18 yr old to realize that, good for him. Michigan fricked up.

This 'little bitch' could probably kick your arse.

Lol you're so badass calling a high schooler out on a message board

Lol so you'd be fine with your boss at work not knowing who you are even though he's been sending you emails non-stop for more than a year?

If a school didn't know my name and I was somewhat a top-tier recruit who had been committed For some time, I would de-commit in a heartbeat

the name being misspelled would bug me more assuming its been a consistent issue (says he told them before).

sending the card would be idiotic as a reason though. thats as simple as clicking the wrong name on a list by accident.

I don't have a problem with it. Michigan has to be better than that. Heck, Curry went with UA over Nike because they pronounced his name Steph-on and had KD's name left over in the powerpoint.

The whole recruiting game is still gross, though.

I don't think it's too unreasonable for him to expect that the school he's committed to would know a) when he actually visits them and b) how to spell his name.

Of all the reasons to decommit, this one doesn't really bother me.

agreed

esp with how UM presents itself (this elite place of amazing character who gives a shite about its athletes, etc)

While these two statements are pretty conflicting, I don't think you'll find any fans of big time college football programs that would disagree.

You've got 5 job offers sitting on your lap and the one you are leaning towards gives you a clear sign that they aren't paying attention to the details and don't even know your name. You still leaning towards them?

“A day or two ago, they sent my mom a card thanking us for going to the Michigan bbq, but we never went,” Solomon told 247sports.com. “I do not know which recruit they were talking to, but it was not me. It was just a little heartbreaking, for me to supposedly be so high on their list, for them to confuse me with someone else. Plus they spelled both of my names wrong after I told them, but that was not the main issue. I guess they do not have tabs on me.”

I wish more kids understood that these coaches are salesman. They arent your best friend. They want to use your talents to make their team better. That is the coaches job, I am not knocking them. But a lot of these kids have in their head that they are the greatest thing ever. Even if they ranked low it is because of this or that.

They need to realize that these coaches tell you want you want to hear.

No idea what this kids story is just wish these kids could look at the big picture for themselves. Hard to do at 17 though

Pretty much everything about recruiting is sleazy, so I have no issues if the kid used this as an excuse to bail.

IDK, saying "frick you" to a school who would have made plenty of money off of you but can't even be bothered to remember who you are and where you have been seems like a pretty reasonable response.

I'm sure the student worker in the AD pulling names from the spreadsheet really pays close attention to the mailing list.

Guys I am pretty sure 'Michigan BBQ' means grilling some burgers and brats and the like, not pulled pork.

Why all the drama? Just decommitt and sign elsewhere if that's what you want to do...

Because entitled.

Everyone telling you, you are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Attention whore generation.

If you're so easily offended, stop playing football. And certainly don't play for Harbaugh, he'd probably make this kid quit after one practice in trying to prepare the kid for the NFL.
