Texas would have beaten alabama in NC title game with Colt and aggy beating them this year are the templates. ou would be scary with a mobile qb.

Didn't they barely go above .500 in the weak Big 12? Come talk when you can at least hang with the "big boys" in your own conference

Alabama will win a 3rd Natty w/o playing a quality QB.

I'm not sure what's worse, Texas fans whining that they would have won if McCoy didn't get hurt, or stupid shite like this. He didn't quit, he got a stinger. I'm sorry that in your 1950's macho world he should have stayed in, but in the real world, it means he couldn't throw more than 10 feet.

The Tsips have a new found hatred for the SEC now that aTm has moved over here and is more successful than them.

Good for them. But the Big 12 is 4-3 in bowls, so it's not like they are tearing it up. And while A&M has done great, what about Mizzou?

I'm not a huge fan of my conference can beat up your conference arguments, but if it makes them feel better that the SEC is a bit down this year, then knock yourselves out. Know who's underrated? The Pac friggin 12.

BTW : A&M success does show that the SEC, while the best conference, is not this uber conference of supermen that SEC fans like to think. SEC fans swore up and down that a team like A&M couldn't compete, that their offense could never work in the SEC. and in true SEC fan fashion, rather than give someone else credit, they back peddle and say it was because JFF was a special player and wait till we have time to prepare, blah, blah.

This thread is an opportunity to express a thought that popped in my head last week. Texas is turning into Tennessee.

I thought all year that was the 2nd best conference.

But they have had a bad bowl season. The Pac 12's only wins so far are vs Non AQ's (Nevada and Navy and 5 loss Wisconsin.

I'm not a fan of conference versus conference. Just give me the best teams in the BCS bowls regardless of conference. You can't take away the fact that the SEC is on a roll in the NC game, but in other bowls I don't take much stock in to the SEC bowl records in the past since they almost always play Big 10 teams.

I thought A&M would compete because of two reasons: Arky and Auburn were taking steps back (didn't know it would be that big) while the Mississippi schools still exist. And two, Kevin Sumlin is one of the best coaches in the nation.

But I do think its dishonest to hype A&M and ignore the pounding Mizzou took. The SEC is a great conference. So is the Big 12. Anyone who thought the Big 12 was full of a bunch of commuter schools was just delusional. I think the SEC is better, but not by leaps and bounds.

That's not backpedaling.

Adding a Heisman winner is kind of a big deal...
