Well, hello. Good for Nole, I thought he would cave.

Not sure why, but I watched almost all of Sock grinding out a first round win in crappy, windy Delray Beach yesterday.

Still not sure why he's even playing singles. All these wild cards might help him get back into the top 100 but he won't ever come close to the top 10 again. He needs to just play doubles and build a legacy there.

Love the kid. Norrie beats Opelka in Delray Beach. Opelka and Mannarino yesterday was weird, it got a little heated toward the end and Mannarino folded. A couple of 500 events this week in Dubai and Acapulco.

If Medvedev wins Acapulco, he moves to #1 in the world. First outside the Big Four in nearly 20 years.

I'm confused how Novak is dropping 500 points this week when he didn't play at all between AO and Monte Carlo last year. Did they move to a 2-year system? I'm not up to speed on this stuff.

Didn't they move to some type of 2-year formula for the World Rankings during Covid? I don't know exactly how it works, though.

He won Dubai in 2020. Maybe that is why he won't be able to gain any points this week.

Has to be that. The points do seem pretty high with both guys having over 8000.

Anyone here been to the Miami Open? They don't have ground passes available yet. Just curious what they charge and if that's a good option. Looking at going around the 25th of March.

I think they have only run it twice in the football parking lot, so it has to be a wildcard. But, it's still probably more well run than Key Biscayne, as beautiful as the venue was. Sorry, I've been to Cincy a bunch, Toronto twice, and Indian Wells once. I do want to get down to Miami for it.

Only been to Indian Wells myself. Looks like the Stadium Court and Grandstand tickets both allow access to all of the grounds, which is consistent with IW, and would explain the higher prices for the day sessions.

I'm taking a guess that they want to gauge interest in the tournament first before releasing/pricing the grounds passes.

Well my Miami plans changed pretty quickly and I won’t be going, but I’ll still keep an eye on the tickets just for future reference and comparison’s sake.

Novak takes the 1st vs. Musetti.

1-hand backhands are still arse.

Wasn't aware Novak still can't enter the US, so he's out for Miami too unless something changes.

Apparently Zverev was still on court with Brooksby last night past 3 AM in Acapulco. I guess they don't start until 6 PM local to avoid the heat. Decent field there with 4 of the top 5 players.

I think the vax requirements will chill out as the year goes on, so I am pretty confident that Novak will be able to play the remainder of the slams this year; and hopefully most of the 1000 level events, too.

But yeah, seems like he will have to miss Indian Wells and Miami, which is bullshite.

It is the best field they've ever had. They need to split up Dubai and Acapulco moving forward so they aren't the same week. Dubai is a big purse, but guys want to play Acapulco when it's at this time in the calendar because they want to get to North America ahead of Indian Wells and Miami. It can be the "Sunshine Triple" as I have heard some people call it.

Yeah and the courts are more similar to IW and Miami.

One thing I never thought about is what would happen to Miami if IW became a slam. Guess there would have to be some schedule adjustments.

I’m on Wolf tonight in the +185 range vs. that greasy Italian Sonego. Took some 1st set too.
