So much fail

The password for early access to the tickets was simply “TCU15”, a password that would take just .015 seconds for the average desktop to crack.

TCU Athletic Director Chris Del Conte actually tweeted the password out himself, making an already simple password common knowledge rather than just an easy test to a novice hacker.
It didn’t take long for TexAgs message boards to track down the password and begin to go to work, according to its site.

One day before tickets were set to go on sale to the public, the game was already sold out, according to TCU’s official athletics account.

I've been reading about this on twitter trying to figure out what happened. Really a big fail by the TCU AD. If aggies are all up in that stadium he'll never hear the end of it.

Aggie fans created accounts as if they were TCU fans. Once they were approved they bought the tickets with the promo code.
So basically the promo code was only supposed to go to TCU seaon ticket holders via an email. But once it got out with the tweet as long as you created an account with TCU's athletic department you could purchase those tickets.

Kosmo if Joe Alleva did that same then ULL fans could go create a TAF account and use the promo code to buy seats only Season ticket holders were privy to.

I don't know what that means, but you have to be a member of the alumni association to buy OSU tickets from the school.
I don't understand how they would even let you create an account as a non - alumni

Probably 75% of the LSU fans aren't alums, that's why you have to join TAF- that athletic fund raising association.

When I was the Ticket Manager for UNO, when they faced North Carolina in the NCAA tourney, we had Tar Heels fans paying money to current/former UNO students to buying booklets to the 1st round for them. They had to have a valid student ID or be in the Alumni book.

They lost 3 of their last 5 games of the regular season, and got blasted in SEC tourney (albeit by a team they beat 2 days prior). The pissed away their national seed all on their own by not closing out their season.

And yet their RPI was still higher than 5 national seeds and they shelled Fulmer in the SEC tournament.
TCU didn't play in their conference championship game either.

you know the AD might have did it on purpose if sales weren't going as expected
and a promo code like that might work against an out of state opponent, but A&M might have got it anyway
