I see some german in mock drafts mid first. The guy averaged 1 point a game in a #NOTbigtime euro league.

WTF? Pls explain. Are there so few usa big men that pro teams are picking a guy with no impact in europe mid first over actual basketball players? Was he hidden away in the bundesliga in goal? I see a couple of africans with similar nada stats. Again, why? Would you pick a guy with no offense over the MAC poy?

is he like 17 or 18?

Euro teams are weird in that even if a young player is capable of playing, they believe in letting the vets start and play most of the minutes

Yeah hes young. 19.

Ok so they are putting bread on the table of older family man. Fine. But if he never plays, how do we know he can play vs nba peer big boys?

Euro teams typically don't play young guys who are thinking of leaving for the NBA

we don't

back during the Euro craze, tons of young guys who didn't play much were given the benefit of the doubt, especially since in drills they showed everything you'd want. however, they didn't know much about actually playing basketball in a team setting

the myth of pavel is one of the craziest stories in NBA history. he was like 7-3 or something and some scout found him, stashed him in a training gym for a year or so, and when he came out he could dribble, shoot, pass, etc insanely for a guy his size. chad ford found out about him and he almost went top 3 in the next draft (had to pull out because of a health issue)

The NBA will always make from for 7'0 that show any size of being able to move. From what I understand, he looked promising in his workouts.

It is worth a flyer in the late first round.

At least the craze has slowed down quite a bit.

are you talking about Isaiah Hartenstein

first, he's not german he's american... he's from Oregon. he's 7 feet, can dribble, is a plus athlete and has a really really solid stroke.. scoring won't be the probelm he will have in the NBA. also a very good rebounder. his problem is he's an entitled twat who throws temper tantrums

pay no mind to his numbers a euro team isn't going to play a 19 year old very min mintues and def not one who is going to the nba next year what's the point

Some rumors going around that Celtics will take Josh Jackson if they keep the pick.

dont believe that. It's Fultz or trade. Everything else is smoke screens or agent chatter.

they dont. but you see his skills at 7 feet and you see how it could translate. theres always more risk when taking on young euro players but if you have a pick in the late lotterr, why not?
