The only game was LSU vs Texas a&m and was played at 6:30. I was home from the cowboys game in time to watch most of it. Cowboys started at 3:30. People sitting at home would have no problem watching both without major overlap.

It's a business decision for the NFL. They are in a difficult spot, I think they are ok with losing 10 to 20 percent of their TV audience but keep their employees happy and keep their product going. The clown in the White House will be there for 4 years, tops 8, but the NFL is here to stay. Even with the drop in ratings, they are still far ahead of any other programming.

The Raiders and Refskins are amount the most popular teams across the country.... last nights gsme was rather boring but with the Raiders being a contender this year those ratings should be s concern for the networks and the NFL.

It was just a weird game. Not surprised at the ratings.

Something about Oakland vs Washington doesn't pass the eye test.

Wait until NFC North/East matchups start happening and the ratings will go right back up.

Dal/Wash was at 3:30.
LSU/A&M was at 6:30.

How were they competing with each other?

No, it was the thanksgiving game that starts after most people have eaten and have sat down on the couch to watch the cowboys. That's the factor that matters most, not the opponent.

It was a night when the game ended, so depends on what you consider a night game. LSU competed against the Giants or Steelers I think? Whoever it was it was a boring game and I watched LSU (of course)

I thought it was a night game due to the high ratings.....

The fact it was a 3:30 game and dominated means the redskins are even more impressive.

That's certainly debatable.

I think you know you're on the losing side of this particular argument. I.e., using the Thanksgiving Cowboys game to prove the Redskins nationwide popularity.

I don't disagree with any of that. But you seemed to agree with the OP that the NFL won't survive this.

No, they will. But bc the people who support the NFL will force them to. The owners in large part backed the players, and I get that bc Trump shouldnt have interjected (even though I pretty much agree). He stoked the fire. So the players responded. However, the owners have backed the wrong horse initially.... there will come a point when they will no longer tolerate the protests on 'company time' bc it will start digging into their pockets.
