Sulphur Head Coach Paul Bourgeois Resigns

more information released to the news later today or tomorrow. But Sulphur High School will have a new head coach for the 2010-2011 season.
Coach Boo was at Sulphur for 8 years, this was his record according old papers here:
2002 (8-4) beat Ouachita in round one, lost to Rummel in second round
2003 (9-2) district champions, lost to Huntington in round one
2004 (4-6) no playoffs
2005 (7-2) district champs shortend season because of Rita, beat Thibodaux in round one, Beat Rummel in round two and lost to Catholic in round 3
2006 (11-4) District Champs, beat Coving in round one, beat West Monroe in round 2, beat Carencro in round 3, beat Rummel in round 4 and lost to Acadiana in the dome
2007 (8-3) District champs, lost to Westgate in round one
2008 (5-5) lost to Ouichita in round one
2009 (4-6) last place in 3-5A, no playoffs

its a good job to have.ive been to ballgames there and the stadium is great and its always capacity.seen kevin faulk play there,trev faulk and damian james.

i also went to a ruston vs sulphur game in ruston about 12 years ago.sulphur travels great too.

what about guys like Brandon Stokley, and Mark Roman, that old Lafayette/Lake Charles district was unreal.

i wish id got to see roman or stokley play.ive missed some.i used to go to games all over the state as a hobby but ive gotten away from it for about 5 years.ive seen some great players and teams.best team id say ruston 1990.best player id say peyton manning.

Paul was a good coach. Not too shabby as a QB either.

Is this due to medical reasons? I know he had a brain tumor a while back and was going to M.D. Anderson for treatment. Hopefully he's still in good health.

His offense was complete shite. I usually went to Sulphur games every Friday. Since the '06 Championship game in the Dome, I've been to about 5 because of his terrible coaching.
Sulphur was up by 2 in the fourth quarter and was driving. Time to put the game away. They get down to Acadiana's 25 yard line and it gets to be 2nd down. He goes and puts his son back into the game at QB that he hasn't played since the beginning of the season. A different QB had gotten them to the dome and for no reason was pulled. They try 3 straight passes and turns the ball over on downs!! Run the ball and you kill the clock and Acadiana doesn't have so much time to drive and kick a FG with the best kicker in the state that's at LSU now. Idiotic.
Anyway, that's in the past. Finally, Sulphur is looking elsewhere. From what I've heard the three rumored candidates are
Russ Sutherland - Head Coach at Sam Houston. Excellent coach
Tommy Tate - Ex-McNeese Coach
Kirby Bruchaus - Ex-One year McNeese coach.

2. he cant even stay up in a meeting......the players laugh at him cuz he falls asleep while watching film......there must be some intense coaching going on there
3. took credit for turning SHS program around after it had went to playoffs previous 6 years.....funny cuz i know VIATOR did that.
4. not one coach on the staff has respect for him.
5. and btw....these pending lawsuits are LEGIT
New coach: Fusilier is the obvious choice. however if he doesn't want it there needs to be someone in that circle to take over. Phil Fontenot needs to be the OC.....Fus will still call the defense....and the rest of the staff is in place, they just need a HC that is not a idiot. They dont need an outsider...especially from Barbe, even though Demarie is a good coach. Dont need some WM coach either......
Mr Bonin is taking heat for this by some people in sulphur......you people are idiots.....he is doing the right thing as he usually does

It does hit on a couple points about the guy though that I've heard.
The other shite about who should replace him? He's an idiot on those cases. Mike Abshire used to be the baseball coach at Sulphur when the current coach took an Asst. job at McNeese.

Prom, you mentioned Sutherland. Do you want him to be the coach there. I think he is a great coach but a lot of people in the bluff miss the old smash mouth days and never really bought into his spread.

From what I understand, Sutherland is from Moss Bluff, so it would take alot to get him to go to Sulphur.
