Gymnastics is incredibly hard and those gymnasts are incredibly skilled, but it's more of a performance art than a sport. Too much subjectivity.

But we've gotten off track here, fellas. Let's talk about how awesome Barry Bonds was.

Nope. I'll take Cal Ripkins 2k streak over a hr contest as a more impressive record.

You kids think I'm some fat frick behind a comp?

I have balance and average strength. Give me six months of workouts and I can do a fricking handstand on a beam for Christ's sake.

I said I'd still be terrible but I'd look like someone who is at least trying.

Hitting a major league pitch is almost impossible for an average cat.

And to the other guy,

Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders are two of the greatest athletes of all time. They also played a frick ton of college ball too. So that argument is also idiotic.

That is about the equivalent of standing there and hoping to draw a walk.

If you tried to do what modern gymnasts do on a balance beam, you would most likely wind up in a hospital. Frick that.

I'd step in against a big league pitcher tomorrow but have no interest in even learning a modern balance beam routine.

I'll take the Cy Young 511 wins record as the most unbreakable. I don't care what any statistician comes up with. That record will stand forever!

How about Charlie Old Hoss Radburn's 59 wins in one season? Or Will White's 680 innings pitched?

You would see one slider coming straight at you at 90 plus and watch it drop and then step out immediately out of fear.

I'm just going to show one sport that involves numerous events more difficult than hitting a baseball.

The best hitters on the planet make a useless out 6 or 7 out of ten times. That's why it is so hard.

The best gymnast on the planet is going to nail her routine and medal in a competition, but the GOAT hitter could easily go 0-4 because his sport is more difficult.

Maybe if you are a 5 ft 2 inch 13 year old.

There will never, ever, be another pitcher to win 400 games.... much less 511.

I've been saying this for years! This one is overlooked so often in these type discussions. Cy young was a beast... a beast with a rubber arm!

What makes his 511 wins even more impressive is that he also had 316 losses in his career.

He also had 749 complete games out of 815 games started, for reference... Greg Maddux only had 109 out of 740 ... Nolan Ryan, only had 222 out of 773.

Let that sink in, Cy Young had five more complete games than Greg Maddux even had games (744)

7,356 innings pitched. It would take a guy 35 years to do that today.

hershiser's scoreless innings streak is impressive, also ... probably as impressive as some of those records on the list ...

I'll take the bait.

688 career IBBs is the least impressive record in sports history.

1- It's a walk.

So the discussion goes, all the pitchers were scared, or he was the HR leader. But we all knew he was on roids, and so did the pitchers, and those walks show it.

2- It's still just a walk. How this is deemed to the the GOAT stat record?

I don't get this point. They both played college baseball and already had the skillset necessary. It's not like they were just two guys who walked in off the street.

That explains it better. With all the criteria and sub-criteria and extensive research you would think someone would've taken a step back and exerted some common sense.

It's a great stat, somewhere on the level of most free throws in a row ever made.

I feel that Walter Johnson's 110 complete game shutouts is the most impressive pitching record.

That's more than Gregg Maddux, Tom Glavine, Pedro Martinez, Curt Shilling, Felix Hernandez, and Clayton Kershaw have combined.
