Struck out 14 so far. Bottom sixth.

He has struck out the last seven batters.

My roommate is at the game. She and some friends bought tickets about 2 hours before they announced Strasburg to the Nats.

Damn, whatever happened to the 70 pitches he was supposed to throw? Oh well, good for him!

pitch count was 90...they let him go 94 before pulling him. He struck out the last 9 or 10 guys he faced, still throwing 100 mph.

i was impressed with him. and they did the right thing by pulling him. too many young pitchers get over worked and have their careers ended too soon. ask lane mestepey, smoke rode him into the ground.

Yeah, he allowed 2 runs on a homer where he left a change up in a bad place but came back a couple of innings later and struck out the same batter (D Young) with 3 fastballs.

Yes! Leake is killing it. I didn't realize he was batting .417 though

final line was 7 ip, 14 k, 0 bb, 4 hits, 2 runs.

I agree you don't wanna burn him out too early, but hell, you only get to start your first MLB game once, let him go.
