Baltimore receiver Steve Smith says he's likely to retire after Sunday's game vs Cincinatti. Is he in the Hall of Fame or Hall of Very Good? I say HOF

Over 1,000 career receptions, almost 15,000 yards, and 81 touchdowns

He's HOF worthy for sure.

Definite hall of fame. Still tearing it up this year as old as he is. With flacco as his qb

Was starting to think he would never retire. Definitely going to miss his attitude on the field

This.

And he's a genuinely good dude off the field, too.

I hated him for what he did to the Saints, but always respected the way he played. Dude played like we was twice his size. Glad I got to watch him play.

I wish this post was about Steve A. Smith, instead of Steve Smith Sr. Even though he was a Panther, I still always liked the guy. A ton of attitude, the ability to back it up. Seemed to speak his mind. And the dude always went hard. I think he clould have went a couple more years for sure. I say HOF.

He must've burned Roman Harper for a 3rd of his career TDs.

Didn't he retire last year as well or did I make that up?

He did say 2015 would be his last season. Then came back. He's still only saying this week will "probably" be his last. Brett Favre 2.0.

Pound for pound one of the best players in last 15 years. Only 5'9 & played much bigger & brought & even bigger toughness to his teams

In Smith's case the Ravens talked him out of retirement.

So everyone thinks Steve Smith is a HOF WR but Chad Johnson doesn't get in because it is not the hall of very good? Smith has accumulation stats on Chad definitely but per game numbers and all pro selections are in favor of Chad in both their primes

This might be dumb but I'd rather have smith over Johnson.

Smith put up some good numbers with a lot of shite QBs.

Peak Johnson was fun as shite though

I got a good laugh out of the fact that the NFL is running ads of him teaching kids good character and stuff, and just last week he was filmed yelling at Pats fans to suck his dick

First NFL game I ever went to he was a rookie for the Panthers, who were in the midst of a dreadful 1-15 season.

Lone highlight of the game for the Panthers was a punt return by Smith where he reversed his field, ran about 15 yards backwards, beat everyone to the sideline and had about a 50 yard return.

Glad he got to play on some teams that were worth a shite eventually.
