but just looked and apparently NBC has had a divisional playoff game since 2014, alternating taking one from Fox and CBS.

No question. I remember Thomas was involved in a bad accident on a slick interstate trying to get to the NFC Championship Game about this time in 2000. He later died of his injury. Very sad. No one else needs to get hurt getting to game.
