I shite you not. This author blames (while actively trying not to blame) the North Carolina House Bill 2, preventing trannies from using whichever bathroom they wish to use, as the excuse for why Duke lost to USCe last night.

CBS Sports Link:
Duke lost because of tranny bathroom legislation in NC

I swear, this article would not be written for any other program but Duke to excuse the loss.

***also can throw this link into consideration for the current thread on "could sports media go any lower" on first page of MSB at the moment.

I ain't clicking on that link, but did the author explain how Duke should be rewarded every year with playing in the NCAA postseason in their home state? Is that written in the NCAA bylaws?

It's a CBS Sports link. Should be legit journalism site, but apparently that's too much to ask.

it's like a 3 hour drive to Duke and an hour from Charlotte. Hardly a tough trip

compare that to a number 1 seed Gonzaga to play in salt lake city

From the article:

quote:

Duke didn’t lose because of where it played, but the NCAA’s moving the tourney out of North Carolina unquestionably had some impact on what happened Sunday night.

I think he's just saying that on a neutral court the results might have been different. I think you're overreacting a little bit. It's a subtle difference, but it's there. Regardless, like most of the shite that passes for journalism nowadays, it's pretty much a waste.

Hence why I said he "tries not to blame" but writing the article is an attempt at a hack excuse for the loss.

Like previous poster said, it's a 3-hour drive. And the arena was filled with UNC fans. Why couldn't Duke fans travel?

This shite was discussed when the games got moved.

Everyone knows about it.

That fricker is trying to do 2 things:

1) Make excuses for Duke.

2) Throw rocks at NC for all his tranny/SJW friends.

I would bet money that there were as many Duke fans as South Carolina fans at the game. Now, did many UNC and other teams fans join in to cheer on South Carolina, most definitely. But that would have happened anywhere.

There would still have been a lot of South Carolina fans in Greensboro (and a ton of UNC fans who would cheered for South Carolina).

It isn't like the tourney site was moved from Seattle to Greenville, SC. It was moved from Greensboro, NC to Greenville, SC.

I feel like if they want to gripe about non-basketball reasons as to why Duke lost, then they could go after the selection committee for putting South Carolina in Greenville and not in another site further away.

Instead, they choose to bring up the bathroom bill.

To be honest, it is just criminalizing behavior that largely cannot be policed.

Coach K should have kept his mouth shut about the topic. Bad juju for a coach to talk politics before a big game. Sure to backfire.
