Seems to be the prevailing thought. Cespedes for pitching.

I would imagine they will try to move Cespedes
correct for pitching... They are still in on Lester as well but it may cost them more than the 6 years 110-115m they originally offered as I've seen reports of him getting offered 150m.
Thinking is moving one to DH after next year when Ortiz is supposed to retire, and possibly 1 to 1B to replace Napoli and let the young guys take over their positions.

I think Panda channels his inner Adrian Beltre and wears out that wall this year.

I like all the moves they are making, but what are they going to do about pitching if they don't get Lester? Ranaudo proved he may be able to cut it lat the end of last season, but thats about it.

Still other very good FA pitchers...and most likely trade seeing as how they now have a glut of OF talent.

Saw something about Sox being interested in Jason Hammel as a back end guy if they don't get Lester. ith Yoenis they won't get a stud pitcher that is for sure but they may be able to acquire and innings eater

a lot depends on health... Hanley is still an above average player when healthy but he seems to miss time now every year. Pablo has seen his OPS drop each of the past 3 seasons, when a player should be hitting his peak he seems to be declining.
The length of the reported deals is the key, I mean Hanley and Pablo both got 5 year deals

ETA: I forgot Beckett was on the Dodgers so that can be confusing.

They have some OF'ers to trade and there are some promising prospects that are close as well. I think it'll end up being a RedSox/Cubs battle for Lester. It's got to be even more appealing for Lester to go back to Boston.

If it's true that sandoval to BOS is done, speculation is that the giants will use that money to go after lester now.

That's certainly a curve ball. Well Lincecum's contract is off the books in a year so it makes some sense. They've always built their team around pitching.

They are supposedly looking at that Tomas kid. If you really look at the numbers, their stats shouldn't be that hard to replace either.
