Sources say Hanley’s deal with #RedSox will be in range of five years, $90M.

ETA: yea, good luck with all that.

Good.

Didn't want him to end up as a Yankee.

ETA: Hanley was in the Beckett trade right? He started in Boston's organization?

Actually not a bad deal for a very talented player. He was unstoppable in 2013.

Hanley is 31. Seems like a pretty good deal for the Sox. I expected him to get more. I guess he will play third.

I don't know man. I thought he was getting six which is why I was OK with him leaving but for five? Id be ok. We are in a bad place at short until Corey comes up and that's even if he plays short

i like Erisbel Arruebarrena. he has a GREAT glove and can hit. Hanley needed to hit for power for all that money.

no. Hanley came over in a trade earlier with the marlins. Hanley for Nathan eovaldi and a prospect IIRC

Russell Martin got 5/82

HanRam could still win an MVP.

Arruebarrena has an elite glove but can't hit. In his 41 ABs he went .195/.244/.220. That's only 41 ABs, but that has always been his knock. Elite in the field, but terrible at the plate. I think we now have the lowest fWAR at shortstop. Alexei Ramirez would be a move in the right direction
