The Astros runs scored to runs given up at 209:180 is not very indicative of team with a 30-17 record..
Other top teams in the NL, for comparison, like the Dodgers have 207 runs scored and only 153 given up and the Cards 198:140. That's consistency.
Houston batting against top pitchers in their own division:
vs. J. Weaver: .236 avg, 25 K's in 123 AB, 3.45 FIP
vs. G. Richards: .244 avg, 34 K's in 119 AB, 3.09 FIP
vs. Y. Gallardo: .292 avg, 30 K's in 106 AB, 3.67 FIP
vs. C. Lewis: .245 avg, 24 K's in 102 AB, 3.08 FIP
vs. W. Rodriguez: .151 avg, 12 K's in 53 AB, 2.63 FIP
vs. F. Hernandez: .264 avg, 29 K's in 91 AB, 2.06 FIP
D. Kuechel:
vs. Rangers: .250 avg, 33 K's in 180 AB, 3.06 FIP
vs. Mariners: .244 avg, 24 K's in 90 AB, 3.02 FIP
vs. Angels: .277 avg, 34 K's in 148 AB, 3.85 FIP
S. Feldman:
vs. Angels: .279 avg, 18 K's in 140 AB, 3.43 FIP
vs. Mariners: .265 avg, 17 K's in 113 AB, 3.42 FIP
vs. Rangers: .243 avg, 22 K's in 140 AB, 3.28 FIP
C. McHugh:
vs. Angels: .207 avg, 22 K's in 82 AB, 2.96 FIP
vs. Mariners: .185 avg, 29 K's in 119 AB, 4.07 FIP
vs. Rangers: .300 avg, 8 K's in 40 AB, 2.1 FIP
Their very slim Runs Scored : Allowed margin alongside their struggles both hitting and pitching against their division (who they play 3 out of their last 4 series of the season against) makes me believe that even if they continue to win ball games now, they will not be able to win when it matters most, against their division and in the final month of the regular season.

Oh you know, just putting up a measly .330/.442/.670 slash line. Along with 8 HRs and 28 RBIs. And he missed 15 games with a broken foot.
KLaw just put him as his #8 overall prospect.

Mashing
.330, 8 homers, 28 RBI in 30 games. 44 Ks is a lot better pace than he had last year. Missed a few weeks at the start of the year to remove his os trigonum bone in his foot
edit: Damn you Vinny

If this little run causes the Rangers to rush Gallo, it would be instantly become a bad thing. Leave him in the minors, let him figure out how not to strikeout so much, and bring him up when the rosters expand to 40 this September. Do not rush this kid. He's worth more than one season in which the Rangers aren't going anywhere anyway.
Still, it's nice to turn on the TV and watch decent baseball.
