Too bad BIG presidents succomed to fear.
They are directly responsible for this bullshite.
The mass hysteria over covid is killing every segment of society. But that's the plan of the overlords to win an election.

You got that right.

The kangaroo courts are the much worse aspect of it.

Title IX is annoying regarding sports but it just moves around money for sports that no one watches anyway.

The tribalism in sports is a threat to authoritarians because allegiance to a team or school can become a natural rival to unwavering allegiance to the state. Killing sports is one step on the road to complete demoralization of a populace.

Even the Soviets had sports.

No quicker way to turn college football and basketball into pay for play than to cut out unprofitable programs and have AD's raking in dough. There would be no argument against paying players at that point

I think it would have to be legally separated from the university to avoid title 9 requirements.

But how can this be? Jay Bilas lead me to believe that there is so much money that all the players should be paid a ton. He almost makes it sound like there is some rich owner in a back room counting his money while smoking a Cuban cigar.

Hockey does

No it doesn’t
It’s head count vs equivalency sports
Football and basketball are the only men’s headcount sports
Hockey is an equivalency sport.
Now that doesn’t mean there aren’t full ride athletes on the team. They could give one kid a full ride
But that then takes away from the scholarship dollars that are split among the team

D1 hockey is the equivalent of 18 full ride scholarships

Why is it that football needs to subsidize other sports??

If they can't have boosters or their endowments pay for these sports then they don't need to have them.

I’m in that mindset as well

But I don’t know much about the business of college sports

There are kids out there that need these non-revenue sports to gain access to an education they normally wouldn’t be able to get and that is being ruined by politicians.
Well, at least they can get a job at a small business.

Oh wait...

They lose 1 football season, so they are forced to permanently eliminate 4 other programs?
it's a cover.
They finally found the cover to eliminate some programs that lose money.
And the same thing is happening in other businesses.

And just watch.. instead of blaming the inept Big Ten for not even allowing the opportunity to play with safety protocols in place.. they'll use this as an opportunity to score political points against Trump even though he has nothing to do with this

Leftists are disgusting and vile

Said without even taking a glance into the numbers to see how deep cuts would be even if they played in near empty stadiums with expensive protocols
