quote:

Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes federal taxes for 2015, but while he says he has more than enough money to pay them, he doesn’t quite have enough cash. Yet.

quote:

Mayweather has filed a petition with the United States Tax Court saying much of his money is tied up and cannot be easily converted into cash, and asking for a short-term installment agreement allowing him more time to get the cash, according to Bryan Koenig of Law360.

quote:

Although the taxpayer has substantial assets, those assets are restricted and primarily illiquid,” Mayweather’s filing said, according to the Law360 report. “The taxpayer has a significant liquidity event scheduled in about 60 days from which he intends to pay the balance of the 2015 tax liability due and outstanding.” The filing also asks the government to waive a penalty for failing to pay. The government, meanwhile, argues that Mayweather has the ability to pay his taxes in full or part

This makes me hate this little bastard even more. I hope everyone sees this and don't pay Floyd's tax bill for him.

frick that POS.

There was a thread on here a few months ago when people laughed at me for saying Floyd would run out of money eventually.

How could someone who makes that type of money publicly not have a well paid tax attorney handling every check he is handed is beyond me.

He's probably scared of being ripped off.

i imagine he does and has an aggressive one

if the IRS thinks you straight up didn't pay your taxes, you go to jail (like Wesley Snipes or Lauryn Hill)

if the IRS thinks you were too aggressive and just didn't pay as much as they think you do, you can pay it back

and just because he doesn't have tens of millions in liquid assets doesn't mean he's broke (or close to it)

You're an idiot. He didn't run out of money, he did the intelligent thing and bought properties, invested in business and made trust funds. All of these can't just be easily liquidated.

What kind of dumb arse would leave millions upon millions in a bank which the bank hugely benefits from while giving you a paltry percentage return?

Doesn't he keep all his money in a checking account?

Exactly.

I would guess Floyd Mayweather does not handle his finances very well.

I remember watching a doc on him years ago and he had millions in straight cash stashed in various closets and boxes in his house, said he didn't trust banks

Fighting again.

It'll be like that till he loses

Well...Floyd Mayweather

quote:

There is more than $123 million in Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s bank account.

He nods, folds the slip and says, "One account, baby."

Well the smart thing to do would be to leave yourself enough cash to pay your taxes...

He can invest in whatever he wants to but if he doesn't pay his taxes he's in a world of hurt

If you're having a "liquidating event" then something went wrong with whatever plan you had
