Series-long Yankees thread is back, folks. The Yanks open the baseball season today in Tampa.

This is phase 2 of the Yankees' unique rebuild, as we get closer and closer to the free agency extravaganza after the 2018 season. With one of the best farm systems in baseball, the Baby Bombers have an extremely talented core as we look toward the future.

The Yankees had a fantastic spring, finishing with the best record in the Grapefruit League (and all of baseball). They also tallied the most home runs in the Grapefruit. Greg Bird was particularly fantastic, hitting double-digit home runs in spring.

Aaron Judge's great spring won him the starting job in right field. Aaron Hicks will be the 4th outfielder and see lots of time, as well. Didi Gregorius injured his shoulder during the World Baseball Classic, and it looks like he'll miss at least one month. Ronald Torreyes will see most of the time at shortstop in his absence.

The bullpen will once again be stacked. Chapman is back.

The over/under win total is set at 83.5 for the Yankees. They've won between 84 and 87 games each of the last four seasons.
