Why wouldn't you claim him? Do you not claim football players who leave as soon as they are eligible for the draft?

Fair question.

It's partly a sport issue. Football players have to be there more than a year, so they become embedded.

It's partly just a sense that he was never really interested in being at LSU in the first place.

But that goes back to the sport thing. LSU doesn't get the one and done guys like other places.

edit: and I don't feel like he elevated the team either. He made a poor team mediocre. We could have missed the NCAA and passed on the NIT without him.

Bet the Sixers would love to call miss Cleo about Embiid's future. Too many 6'10 guys on that team already. They almost have to try to trade Noel for a one dimensional scoring guard if they take BS. His value won't net much else needs wise.

Can't imagine a team give much for Joel at this point. He could end up being Greg Oden for all we know right now

That makes absolutely no sense. So you have nothing against him, but won't acknowledge him as a former LSU player?

The dude went to lsu for one year. He didn't give a shite. Was just as topping point for him. I couldn't care less where he goes. I do know this. Heros MOT give a supreme effort while at lsu so screw him.

Sad day for sixers fans. He has proven he won't work very hard for his team, and isn't a leader.

Yeah it's a contradictory statement. "I'll never claim him because he was only here for one year and didn't live up to my expectations and left to be the 1st overall pick like anyone in his position would do. But I don't hold anything against him."

Not sure that I'll be a big fan of his after the LSU experiment but think he'll be really good in the NBA. The added weight, continuing to work on his mid-range game (almost non-existent at LSU but likely to improve), and having more of an open floor with shooters to work with.

I guess his personality in general (going forward) will ultimately dictate whether I root for him or not.

Of course I will acknowledge he played at LSU. The context of the response has importance.

If you were able to follow context, it might help. You are so busy trying to be the edgy cool guy that you look like a jackass at times.
