Should the NFL cut the amount of games during preseason or eliminate it completely?

The injuries suck, but there has to be some sort of way to determine what your roster is. Personally, I think the CBA limiting offseason stuff is related to the injuries.

Just have these 2-3 day scrimmages with nearby teams. frick a preseason. It's just a money grab.

So does forcing season-ticket holders to pay full price for meaningless games.

Well, on the Kansas City vs Seattle broadcast, they said no hitting in practice, and Pete Carol said that's why players are prepared for hits so fumbles, dropped passes and injuries happen.

If there was no preseason, then the first few games during the regular season would not be at the professional level fans expect to see.

Plus, preseason gives hundreds of players a chance to make the team.

100%

Preseason only strains the relationship between players and owners.

It also makes those owners money. And the NFL is a business.

2 games at most. These nfl coaches should have a very good idea who will be on the team after practice. It's the owners and goodell that want more games because they get extra revenue.

I like three games too. I would make it: one home game, one away game, and one neutral site game for every NFL team.

No money to gouge season ticket holders.
Completely useless.
Neutral site games can work to increase some local interest in the NFL (not needed) and these nutral site games are best for TV, (but no one watches preseason)

ONLY reason preseaon games exist is for money grab.

You might see more injuries if players go straight to the regular season without getting into game shape.

Eliminating the Hall of Fame game is a baby step to get this going.

3 preseason games is enough esp since the owners keep wanting to make the season longer

Preseason games are good for teams to get ready and for coaches to evaluate players

Simple move is for owners to make preseason games 1/3 price and increases regular season games accordingly

If Nick Saban can decide who his best players are for game one with Florida State with no preseason games, I'm pretty sure NFL coaches can do the same.

3 games. I'd only play my starters the second game, and itd be pretty close to a "real" game. If a starter gets hurt in one game it happens, but they need to play before the regular season. The other two games would be used to evaluate my roster.

Eliminating the preseason would be devastating for the guys trying to make a roster. I don't understand why the coaches just don't play the star players other than one game.

early season NFL is sloppy enough as it is.

do you realize just how terrible it would be with no preseason?
