i think you have to pay more attention to what the Cardinals needed at the time than just basic stats, how much better would we be if we had Shelby Miller right now vs Heyward? Heyward has been Huge for us in the field compared to mediocre play by out other options in Right meanwhile the rotation doesn't really need Shelby and won't need him once Marco and/or Jaime Garcia are healthy in about a week. And not to "what if" this all over the place but if Waino were healthy.....

nevertheless carry on......i know yall need something to be happy about

..but the Braves trade raped their arse on this one,

Shelby was awesome tonight and has been very good this season, and Heyward has been pretty horrible at the plate, but I wouldn't proclaim "trade rape" one month into the season.

Just so we are clear...the Cardinals have the best record in baseball and braves fans are talking shite about a trade rape?

Please clarify so I can understand the reasoning behind this thread

Our management decided to reboot and we raped the Cardinals to start it.

How often does Shelby Miller get on base? Other than pitching every 5 days, how else does he contribute to your team other than a bad attitude?

I don't care if Heyward isn't hitting well as long as he gets on base and hustles his arse off just like he did when he just crossed the plate a second ago to put the Cards on top of the Cubs 7 - 4 in the 7th.

Dude wants to play for the Cards. He's hustling his arse off and crossing the plate often. He's adding runs to the scoreboard and helping the Cards be the Best Team in Baseball (trademark). Plus he's making incredible defensive plays in the outfield.

Congrats, Braves, on Shelby being your one and only ace. We got rid of him because we have at least 5 other aces who are as good or better...and all of them embrace the winning Cardinal away. Hope you enjoy his incredible "once every 5 days" contribution and bad attitude.

Cardinals win. Braves loss.

Well I guess I'll just have to wait then. I can only judge him based on what has happened, I'm not gonna sit here and say he's worthless based on what COULD happen

Cardinals have the best record in baseball.

The Braves got an ace for a completely overrated outfielder.

They aren't inclusive. Both can happen at the same time.

The only constant is that cards fans will be insufferable whatever the discussion.

did i say they were exclusive (i think that's what you meant )? No i didn't however, Miller is not a Major League ace. Can he be an ace in a relatively weak rotation? yes but he isn't the type of guy people typically think of when they talk about a major league caliber staff ace

maybe an ace for the Braves. His FIP is 4.24 and his whip is over 1.3..

Maybe cool the jets on the "ace" talk past just one month.

You mean how the OP openly and admittedly trolls Cards fans with the thread and now they are here having a conversation they are "insufferable".

Braves fans spit more vitriol towards the Cards fans than anything else which makes all the gnashing of teeth by braves fans about cards fans laughable.

Tyrell Jenkins has been pretty terrible so far, although judging this trade after one month is pretty silly.

We do not need him to be our ace but he can be a pretty solid #3 for us. I think Sims and Fried are better prospects and maybe Wisler.
