There's a big difference between a paid endorsement where Shaq incurs no financial risk and having to put money on the line to open Starbucks.

I think people missed the point that the business plan was to specifically put Starbucks in black communities
How many business ventures would you be excited about when the target demographic is a (generally) poorer customer base and your product is a premiumly priced non nessesity?
