Leake didn't have a whole lot of FA interest though, his size and overall stuff pegs him below a lot of others in his price bracket IMO. Fair or not. I'd trade him + prospect for decent bat for sure if it was there.
One of them will be. Whichever one takes the best discount is my guess. Probably Holliday, similar power, can play 1B like Moss as well as LF, good teammate, wants to stay in STL, org will prioritize Holliday over Moss for those many reasons.
Holliday is a big time 2nd half player, has been in his whole career, so if he ends up where I think he does (.260ish 25HR 75+rbi) it's a no brainer as long as he doesn't try and get top dollar.

Think Holliday has an option next year, whereas Moss will probably get a 3-4 year deal. I saw Cardinals bullpen has a 1.90 ERA since break.

That Marlins guy behind home plate is everywhere. I want to be that guy.

He does, club option though not player. Cardinals won't be picking it up at 17m, but will have deal in place when they decline that option.
I'm just not sure what a good deal would be for Matt right now, wants to retire in STL, has a few years left, probably wants 3 years, minimum 2.
Too much season left for a 2nd half player at that.
I'd like to keep him at around 12-13m, Alex Gordon numbers. But even then, Moss is making 8.25m this year, is younger, similar power, platoon LF just as well as Holliday...idk man.
Or let that era end and sign a free agent. Not many options, Jose Bautista, Cespedes, Reddick...pass, pass, maybe.
