If you get TOPS but you plan to play FBS football, do you count against the 85 scholarship limit?

No. I believe that any state or federal scholarships do not count against the 85. However, any school scholarships (either athletic, such as track, or academic) do count.

Yes. If you are classified as a recruited athlete.

I know in Alabama if you get like the Bryant scholarship and play in the first 2 years it counts. It also has to do whether you were being recruited or not. If one is being recruited to play FB then it would count against the 25.

My understanding is that preferred walk-ons are just the walk ons that were recruited

Since preferred walk-ons typically don't play their first two years then the wouldn't count if they are another form of aid.

Yes it does as you're recieving financial aid and FBS is all or none on scholarships.

So walk-ons have to be true walk ons with no official visits
