Would it shock anyone if additional charges come out for others who were working for Penn State back then? No.
We all know that Paterno knew for decades about this child rape, and he tolerated it. Who tolerates the sexual assault of children? Other people who sexually assault children. I fully expect for stories to eventually come out about Joe sexually assaulting kids.

i do not understand why we do not execute people who molest children ... have a cut off age of around 12, and if you do anything with them sexually that is verifiable with sufficient forensic evidence, you are executed ...

If you get angry in a fight, and murder someone out of rage, that is a trait that can actually be worked on and rehabilitated to where you are once again safe for society.
If you have it in you to have sex with a 10 year old, there is no saving you. You have a mental disease that will never allow you to be safe for society.

I'm just stating a fact, not passing judgement.
Horrible people do horrible things to their kids, which warps them and then those kids go on to be horrible people and perpetuate the cycle.
