bc it doesn't need to be the 4 best resumes... plus do you want to see rematches?
dont care, if there is a 4 team playoff, the 4 best/most deserving trams/resumes should be in that 4 team playoff. I don't think that is hardly a controversial statement.

I still don't understand how this is the only division of football anywhere that doesn't have a true playoff system. It is really sad.

it's not sad

CFB is one of the most stratified sports leagues on the planet. it may be #2 to La Liga/EPL, but that's a stretch

Can't be any more insane than giving mulligans to teams that finish second in their division

that depends entirely on who is in the division and who is in contention while NOT being in that division

If you can't win your bracket you aren't the best.

the question is if you're better than the other teams in contention

it gives meaning to the conference games above all others, bc those would be playoffs in their own right.

that's a stupid idea b/c not all conferences are created equal, and if you create a NATIONAL playoff, you have to put the best teams from the entire nation within the bracket. leaving out better teams b/c they come from the same conference removes the entire point of a playoff

a team like 2011 (or 2013) Alabama had their chance to qualify, and they should have thought about it when they didn't win their own division...

would the system have been better off letting in an inferior team? no

and hell, you're even looking at a dreaded "rematch" once Oregon was allowed in

So instead, let's allow the winner of the AAC in the playoffs, that's the idea?

Seeing that list of teams makes me feel even more confident on my side of this debate, fwiw.
