Interesting moves for the White Sox (between this and signing Robertson). Seems like they are going for it this year, but I would have thought they were more than a year away.

Yea I agree I didn't think they were anywhere close to competing. Still really don't to be honest. Sale and Shark is definitely a really great 1-2 punch however

The ChiSox had the 3rd worst bullpen with the 3rd most BS in the AL last season. Add Shark with Sale and Quintana to go along with LaRoche, who provides excellent defense with 20+ pop, you're looking at a 15 game swing right here. That puts them right in the thick of things. They look better than both the Royals and Cleveland. They still have money to play with as well.

Never understood the fascination with this guy. He is 36-48 with a 3.75 ERA over the last 2 seasons. Ok, a good chunk of that is with a rebuilding Cubs team, but he did not do particular well during his time in Oakland.

He was a low 3 ERA sub 1 WHIP in Oakland.

He was great last season. He's come a long way from being a thrower into becoming a pitcher. I can't lie... I didn't see that coming. I had him pegged as being more of what his career averages are.

Unless they make some moves, besides having a better bullpen, that's about it. They need to replace Shields and add a couple of bats.

I'm more fascinated that Beane traded one of the best prospects in baseball (Addison Russell) for him and then a few months later moved him for freakin Marcus Semien. That's the type of shite that gets people fired.
