And that was coming off of national titles in 09, 11, and 12. It wasn't like he wasn't having success before.

Too bad our coaches aren't a bit visionary. It takes the wheel falling off the wagon to change them and even at they they try to drag the wagon without wheels for a while.

Oh, for Christ's sake. If that's what you think is going on here then that's your narrative. I'm simply pointing out that even he understood that he needed to shift his offensive mindset a little bit.

No.... Cam doesn't run this kind of offense.

He can if he made the effort to. Will he? He is the only one that can answer that. As i stated before the philosophy is the same it is just done differently.

Saban needs to change his philosophy to build his defense to stop teams like Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma, and other great offenses. He shouldn't build defenses to stop LSU.

Saban will just adjust for the spread teams too. Clemson is a spread team. Did you watch the game last night? Did it work against them? Is Clemson the national champs?

Until Saban leaves the SEC or LSU leaves the SEC prepare for more of the same. No one beats him. That is just how it goes and no amount of good men we hire and fire will change that. If that bothers you find another team to pull for.

Honestly I think the Chavis defenses at LSU were better against teams like Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma. Frankly Saban often got lucky he was able to avoid playing those teams more often. In 2011 the only good offense he faced was Ark. There's no way 270lb LBs are going to dominate those spread teams.

Seems like you are the one one who can't move on from hating LSU fans who can see the obvious.

Yeap, but didn't use him all season.

Good thing, because Clemson just hung 40 on that "vaunted" Bama D that is filled with future NFL talent.

What are you talking about? He got into a shootout. His defense certainly wasn't stopping them.

Every coach had the wheels fall off, bama early in the year, Clemson just waited til the last game.

LSU changed its offensive approach after the bama game, didn't do much.

OK Elvis, you are a genius. Lets just be satisfied that Saban and the tide are going to kick our arse every year. What a loser.

If you watched carefully Clemson had both Ala. linemen and LBs( and also substitute players going in and out) huffing and puffing with Clemson's quick , penalty free play .

LSU needs to adopt same fast play, penalty free spread offensive system to wear those bigger but slower defensive players down.

But that requires discipline and perfection in offensive execution which are existing problems and must be corrected.

Miles wants to throw the ball more. He just has had really crappy QBs. That's his fault. I'm not trying to excuse it, but it's not like Miles has had the same talent and experience as Saban, but just refuses to be multiple.

blake simms makes this a tougher argument

yes he had "experience" but he wasn't a good QB by any stretch of the imagination. and they were CLOSE to playing for a title with him

coker isn't some great QB either

Clemson hung 40 pts and 500yds of offense on a team that hold LSU under 17 pts every single year. Ole Miss who also runs a spread offense did beat Bama. Find me a team since 2011 (when LSU scored 9 pts in 2 games) that has succeeded against Bama with a traditional offense.
