So the Patriots spent a mid third round pick on a QB when they had Brady in his prime to only later trade Mallett for a 6th round pick?

Remember when people on here thought Mallett would yield either Andre Johnson or a second rounder. Lol

They took a risk on a great talent, thinking they could coach him up and trade him off for a higher pick. It didn't work out.

Not a bad trade for the texans. May not be the answer but worth a sixth rounder.

Still wish they took Mett

I think it's a good trade. See what Mallet can do.

Meh, we got to clear up another spot on the 53 and get a 6th round pick to take a flyer on someone.

Honest question - why are the Patriots so stingy? They're always trading good players and then not replacing them. If the Pats had given Brady ANY kind of offensive weapons they'd have made the Super Bowl last year. Yet they continue to spend nowhere near the cap and have Brady throw to scrubs all year, need miracles to bail them out v's Miami, New Orleans, Cleveland. It's asinine. I don't see how Brady doesn't speak out against it.

BTW - this obviously isn't about the Mallet trade, that makes okay sense to me. I'm talking about trading their O Lineman earlier this week, never bringing in legit weapons at WR or RB for Brady, etc.

Something along the lines of cbb being a economics guy and him not thinking ceartin players/postions are worth much. Yet last super bowl win had a great running back in Corey Dillon. Wish he would get more talent

Compared to New England it might as well be right next door

Well for being an economics guy, he's squandered the last 10 years or so of playing in the consistently worst division in pro sports with the best QB and a free bye/home playoff game EVERY. SINGLE. SEASON.

And they haven't won a SB in a decade, because they didn't want to spend an extra $7 million per year on legit weapons. So dumb. They probably turn a $300 million profit every year.
