Herman is going to be running that offense. Make no mistake about it.
Still... That's the best OC hire Texas could get?

Beck wasn't even the playcaller at tOSU this year so he certainly wasn't responsible for the clusterfrick that was the poor calling for the Clemson game. Between Beck, Wariner, & Meyer there were WAY too many chefs in the kitchen for the tOSU offense this past season and that falls on Meyer.

Beck also greatly improved Nebraska's PPG & YPG during his time there.

And he's a great recruiter and has been tOSU's lead in Texas the past few seasons to great results (Dobbins, Browning, etc).

Finally, this is Herman's Offense that Beck (who already has a great working relationship with Herman) is simply going to run to HC's specifications.

Was this a great hire? Probably not. A good one? Almost certainly.

Offense is utter garbage. Quit being a homer.
It ain't garbage. They just don't develop players for shite, and call horrible plays. That's all

This offense made JT Barrett go from a freshman phenom to looking like he cant hit the broad side of a barn. I have a hard time believing that his talent level regressed.

Always a good move to hire a coordinator days after he's largely responsible for the worst bowl performance in school history.

Was Greg Studrawa unavailable?

He was amazing his freshman year. OSU with THAT JT next year would be unbeatable.

Offense is mostly fine.

play calling has been bad.

I don't think these two things can peaceably co-exist.

Beck and Herman have never coached or worked together, so i don't see how you can say they have a "great working relationship..."

It's also possible that it's as simple as opposing DC's got enough tape on him to exploit his weaknesses.

Who the fukk called the plays then? It was Tim Beck, like he's been doing the last two years just fukking up a wet dream. That MSU game last year and the Clemson game. Holy shite that's just pathetic.

Wrong. We have one of the most talented teams in the country. They weren't developed, game plans were predictable, and play calling was shite

A better OC could have at least put up some points with this group.

Damn, you mean to tell me that LSU's offense has not been garbage all of this time

We just had bad offensive game planning, and offensive play calling, and player development, offensive predictability, and bad offensive coordinators

think this argument will fly with my drunk football debates with friends? because if so watch out!

Those were only some of the problems LSU has had for years.

based on what exactly? I'd venture to say that there are maaaaybe 3 schools that have recruited better than LSU over the last 4-5 years in all of college football

We got the talent, our offense isn't garbage. We just had bad offensive coaching, and development, and game planning, and play calling, and offensive coordinators.....

......
