The thing about Kaep is that he has a missile launcher for an arm. People forget that. Quite possibly the strongest arm in the league. Def top 2-3.

If you are a legit 4.5 and can throw the ball that fast you really don't have to be the most accurate motherfricker on earth to be successful.

I think people are seriously sleeping on RG3. I've never seen a QB setup for failure like he has been the last few years. He needs a fresh start somewhere.

RG3 is not a great pocket passer, but he cannot take the hits that a Tebow or Newton can take.

I don't think Kaep knows how to read a defense. He makes up for it (or used to) by waiting until a receiver gets open and throwing it 100mph. He doesn't throw receivers open because he doesn't know where the defenders are.

My two cents.

RG3 never developed as a pocket passer, while also never learning the intricacy of going down or OOB early to avoid unnecessary injury. He could be salvaged if he develops pocket presence, and getting down early. He has the physical tools.

Kaepernick blows. His throwing motion is god awful. 0 pocket awareness. The only thing he has is athleticism, and once that got figured out, he was done. Dude is complete and total garbage. He looked good because he had an amazing team around him and very little game tape to be prepared on. Once teams learn tendencies, its over.

That is why one hit wonders are so common in the NFL.

They are in the same boat as Russell Wilson to me. I watched him yesterday, and while Wilson has better football IQ, he's surrounded by an elite team. Kaep was all the rage when the 49ers were a top team. All these read-option QB will look good on a good team. Heck Bridgewater and the Vikes should run more of that read option with Peterson.

let's all remember

vince young dominated the league for about half a season and tim tebow frazzled teams enough to win a playoff game

those mobile QBs frick up the NFL. every time a new good runner shows up, the collective NFL acts like it has never seen a running QB before. it's a sign of how regimented the NFL is to me. each week is literally a new gameplan and coaches are so synced with that schedule that an outlier disrupting things is difficult to correct

it's like a printing press having to be stopped to print a correction. the well-oiled machine just isn't ready to start over again

Wilson is much better than those two.

Your answer most closely resembles mine.

The effective scrambling creates open receivers, but eventually the contact takes its toll, and defenses adjust accordingly.

It is happening to Russell Wilson now, and eventually Cam, too. But I must say that Cam Newton has developed his passing game more than I would have given him credit for.

And also being the physical specimen he is helps. Wilson lasted a while longer too due to his ability to avoid taking shots.
