YEah, he was dead on the board for having pretty good Beyers. Obviously, someone knew he wasn't right. I kept willing myself to dismiss the skin infection as nothing much. Never will do that again. It is just a pretty good indication his immune system is down and overall the horse is ADR.
Upstart is also the kind of horse that will likely get better with age based on breeding.

He is no doubt just better than this crop. Time to go find other challenges. However, Keen Ice was galloping in under a hand ride as well as soon as he passed Upstart and was still gaining easily. It was an easy race. IF he really gets tested in the next start, he may get a bit late at the end of a mile and quarter.
