The poor jim dandy only has 4 now thanks to the haskell's purse raise to $1.7 million. At least they are a good 4...

Hoping for no upsets tomorrow!

What a joke..one of the most prestigious races in NA and only 4 horses.

That late purse hike killed them.

I should be at Saratoga for the Whitney next week

Is Pharaoh running at Del Mar this year?

I heard Pacific Coast Classic but nothing confirmed

I was hoping he would but I think it's either the travers or the pa derby (blahhh) next as long as he wins

American pharoah day!

And beholder is aiming at the pacific classic. Now I don't want pharoah going there because I don't want either to lose

It's on my bucket list.

Rachel's 2 year old just won her debut despite missing the break and being wide the whole time.

Yep, likely to be her only runner as I doubt they will breed her again and Jess' s Dream can barely stay on the work tab, let alone make a start. However, I am glad this one seems likely to carry on her legacy. Very nicely done.

I would be shocked to see American Pharaoh in the Pacific Classic, although I am not sure there is anything left this year in the older ranks that could give him a race anyway. I could see some Euros coming over for the BC Classic, though. They always seem to come when there is a dearth of capable older dirt horses.

I wouldn't count out beholder. She doesn't know she's a girl

I'm obviously not up on my horse racing but why would a purse raise reduce the number of racers?

Purse raise for Haskell came after entries for jim dandy. A few of the Jim dandy horses the entered the Haskell and scratched the him dandy.

A raise in another race reduced the number of runners in the race. Why race for less money for a Grade 2 placing when you can race for far more money and Grade 1 placing?

Beholder did look pretty impressive yesterday, but mile and quarter will be a question against males.

Eh, this year the older males sort of seem lacking. If ap doesn't go, I'll take her in that race

Upstart looks like his skin infection cleared up.

Personally, believe that while Competitive Edge could loosen him up, no one is likely to catch up with him as long as he is fit.

Upstart is drop dead gorgeous.

I'm strangely nervous that competitive edge is going to push him too hard and keen ice will benefit.

I'm a little worried about fitness. Didn't have too any works between. I feel like he's going into this like he went into the derby, but maybe not

I am assuming Monmouth is as speed favoring as it has ever been. I just don't think Keen Ice is good enough. I would give Upstart the only chance really, but who knows how fit he is either.
