A leg? An ankle? My god.

The pain from a 3rd degree ankle sprain can be worse then a clean break or fracture.

If trainers/doctor's were lying to guys about their conditions in order to keep them on the field and they can prove it, then it's a pretty big fricking deal. Even if just from an integrity standpoint.

exactly.

To try to downplay these allegations is just another example of guys just forgetting that these athletes aren't robots lol.

This kinda shite is gonna happen EVERY year or so.

I know we all hate the way the game is called in regards to big hits and stuff... But you cant blame Goodell for changing the rules so it protects players. I mean last summer they damn near paid $1billion in settlements with former players. Now this.

Not surprised, but no one forced them to take all the pills. Unless I haven't read that yet

Didnt you play baseball or some shite?

So you would have had zero problems with doctors knowing you had a broken bone or needed surgery and hiding it from you, right?

If there's this many guys playing in the NFL with broken bones and torn ligaments then those motherfrickers are tougher than anyone thinks. Or theyre just crazy. (I know that some players do this sometimes)

This is me assuming that they were just giving them pain killers (lortabs, percs, ect.). Now if they were going around sticking needles with numbing juice in anyone then that's a different story. I haven't read too much on this yet

Yes, I understand they all play with pain and you have to have a high pain tolerance to play in the NFL. But there's a difference in playing with a strained hammy or contusions on your forearm and playing with broken bones and torn muscles/ligaments

a while back Real Sports on HBO showed that many teams have doctors who are giving players stuff to numb pain that was originally developed for massive burn victims.

These guys aren't getting run of the mill painkillers that you could get Dr Nick to write you a prescription for.

My comments were just from the tweet.

If some Dr.s were victimizing players that is different, but I would need some more proof than a man with his hand out saying 'they cheated me, and owe me money for damages'.

And I think a strong case can be made that the doctors failed in that duty when they dispensed painkillers to allow players to ignore injuries that were causing pain.

well yeah, but they always give the player a choice right?

I mean come on.

"You're going back in, you don't have a choice God Dammit!!!!!!!!"

a lot of times a player doesn't want to lose his starting job. Hell, Carl Banks played a game one time in 1990 I believe with a broken arm. He wore a cast against the Redskins but hurt his arm worse and then he missed more games later on that year.

he talked about it on America's Game 1990 NYG Giants.

he was weary of losing his job to Johnny Cooks.

just saying.
