Yes, that's how Trump made his name.

Does Simon from American Idol have hotels and shite in his name too?

We elected a celebrity reality tv star who inherited a name and a bunch of money.

You're delusional if you don't think this shite storm isn't going to have a real impact. Fail? Probably not, but people on both sides of this whole deal have drawn a line in the Sand.

How exactly does a league like the NFL fail? Are teams with billion dollar valuations just going to fold? What precedent is there to expect this?

Something like this or proof that CTE can't be avoided or something like that shocks the league. People stop watching and advertisers pull out. Without advertising and operations money, teams start hemeraging money with quickness because costs can't be cut near as quickly.

Now the chance that that happens are really low, but if "the silent majority" actually hate all this shite and stop watching a lot of money will be lost.

Lawsuits due to all this CTE stuff. It'll take 10-20 years but it's coming down. Also quality of play is and will continue to decline partly due to fewer and fewer kids playing even HS football.

And once again, the end of the NFL marks the end of football as the popular American sport. CFB will die alongside it. So I'm not sure why many like OP are happy about it.

In fairness, he was only able to frick up the USFL because he owned one of the teams.

I think he might have just done the same to the NFL.

Right! it's Trumps fault.
Trump also caused two devastating hurricanes to hit the US mainland.

Yes. The NFL earned over $13 billion in 2015 & increased to nearly $14 billion in 2016.

Estimated $14 billion for 2017.

Slavery was a $150 billion (today's dollars) industry in 1860. It was non-existent five years later. You'd be surprised how fast empires fall.

I don't think he'll kill it but I'm sure there's some revenge there from the antitrust lawsuit.

Because those valuations are based on things like market share, growth, projected growth, new LA stadium, TV contracts, etc.

The league and individual franchises will begin to lose value if the projected growth fails to meet expectations. However, the current trend isn't merely falling short of projections, but showing a serious regression. It's a bubble that has burst, but people refuse to admit it.

The NFL will be fine because player salaries are under control, and their stadiums are publicly subsidized. Most teams will still be very profitable, but value of the franchise might be slashed by hundreds of millions of dollars.

If Trump is a "reality star" how was he in Home Alone 10 years earlier?
